Cliffhanger

So some friends and myself went Rock Climbing two Friday ago at the Rock Gym. We try to do it periodically and as normal it was a lot of fun! Rock climbing to me is so much more than physical. To be able to climb you of course need some physically strength, but I believe more than that you need mental strength. The primary thing that I see is that to be able to successfully climb, you must be able to push yourself beyond your comfort zone. Sometimes to get a handhold, you have to temporally put yourself in a position which could cause you to fall. You also have to be able to overcome any doubts or fears about your ability to climb, otherwise you will talk yourself out of reaching the top.

There are also times when you must push yourself farther than you thought you could. When climbing a wall, opportunities will be presented to give up and stop, yet if you do, you will wonder whether you could have reached that next handhold. The only way you can feel satisfied is to either fall trying...or reach the top.
